Consignment Terms and Conditions

Suburban Revival appreciates your business, and as one of our valued customers, we are committed to selling your vintage items at the best possible price. To ensure efficient operations, we kindly ask for your compliance with the following policies:

Consignment Terms and Conditions

​

Suburban Revival accepts consignment items Tuesday through Friday by appointment only and reserves the right to refuse any item without cause.

 

We will review your items while you wait. You are welcome to browse our shop, or you can enjoy a coffee right next door.

If you are only looking to consign items valued under $100 please have a minimum of ten and a maximum of 20 items to go through.

Suburban Revival will make all reasonable efforts to sell consigned items but does not guarantee the sale of any item.

​

All consignments are at the consignor's risk. Suburban Revival is not responsible for the loss or damage of consigned items due to, but not limited to, fire, water, natural disaster, theft, vandalism, negligent handling by customers, or any unforeseen circumstances.

Pricing and Payment:

The percentage the consignor will receive of the final selling price:

 

  • 40% on all items sold for under $100

  • 50% on all items sold for $100 and over

  • 60% - 70% on any items sold for $500 and over

​

Suburban Revival will price consigned items based on competitive market value and condition. A price list for items over $100 will be provided upon request. Otherwise, you will receive an email with a PDF of your list with your first payout.

​

Consignors are paid at the beginning of every month for items sold over $20 the previous month. Sales under $20 will transfer to the following month's sales. Consignors may accumulate credit for items sold, which may be used towards purchases at Suburban Revival.

​

Consignors will receive notification for payment pick up by check. Checks that are mailed to a consignor will be at their own risk. Suburban Revival is not responsible for lost checks or uncashed checks.

Merchandising:

​Consigned items remain on the selling floor for 60-90 days in 3-month intervals, depending on the season dropped off.

Vintage and Season-Less items may be re-consigned for an additional 90 days.​

​

Items will be displayed at Suburban Revival's discretion and may be removed from the floor anytime for any reason. ​

​

Markdowns: 

To keep our inventory fresh and moving, items will be marked down 10 - 20% each month at our discretion based on customer interest. Discounts may be offered for special sales and events. These discounts will be split with the consignor. Discounts are typically between 10% and 20%.

​

Merchandise Pick-Up by Consignor: 

A notification will be sent to the consignor to pick up unsold items.

​

Items MUST be claimed within ten (10) days of the notification, or they will either be donated or become part of Suburban Revival's inventory.

 

Consignors must give Suburban Revival 24 hours' notice before pick-up. Items can be picked up Tuesday through Saturday during regular store hours.

​

 

Items Accepted for Consignment:

Suburban Revival operates a brick-and-mortar boutique in Maywood, NJ, and an online store featuring vintage clothing, jewelry, bags, and accessories.

​

We specialize in consigning "Vintage" and "Almost Vintage" unique and quality pieces, following a specific criteria:

  • Vintage: Items from the 1920s to 1990s 

  • Modern: Items from 2000 to the current day.

​

Designer Bags: 

For luxury designer brand bags like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, YSL,  Prada, etc., the bag must be authentic and accompanied by either a purchase receipt or the original certificate of authenticity.

 

In case these are unavailable, you must authenticate the item for certification. If you cannot do so, we offer this service with an upfront payment for the Authentication Certificate.

Condition of Item:

All items, including Vintage pieces, must be cleaned, laundered, or dry-cleaned and be in mint condition with minimal issues—no odors, stains, rips, tears, broken zippers, or missing buttons. 

 

We do not accept consignments from mall brands like Old Navy, Ann Taylor Loft, Gap, Express, H&M, Target, Kohl's, etc., as they don't have a great resale value for consignment.

​

We do not consign Menswear (unless it could be considered unisex), formal or bridal gowns, children's, maternity, career suits/separates, workout wear, or shoes (unless like new or never worn, designer or unique).

​

Exceptions:

  • Swim and lingerie in pristine condition, earlier than the 1990s.

  • Swimwear and lingerie still with tags - vintage or following our brand criteria.

  • Vintage cocktail evening dresses over 20 years old.

  • Vintage mens Levis jeans 32" or lower from the 1990's or earlier.

 

When we start to consign per season:

  • Fall: August 1st

  • Winter: October 1st

  • Spring: February 1st

  • Summer: May 1st
